Default Did Jesus Die For All Humanity?

Greetings Group,

I recently was a part of a Bible Study group that believed in prededtination so strongly, that most of the group believed that Jesus did not die for all the world but only for an elect group. This teaching is referred to as "limited atonement" in the 5 points of Calvinism. I would like to know this groups thoughts on this subject. Did Jesus die for only an elect few or did he die for all? Your thoughts please.

He died for the whole world, EVERYONE and anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong, whether they believe in eternal security or not.

Christ only died for his chosen people(the elect, his sheep, or the called, whatever term you want to use to describe those he foreknew before the world even began). It was not necessary for Christ to die for the reprobate(unbelievers who would not be saved)because he is not a man, thus he already knew before he even went to the cross who would believe and who would not! God is not going "thru time" with us, as we are in this earthly life. He knew the end from the beginning.

John 3:16 For God so loved the ELECT{world}, that he gave his only begotten Son, that {whosoever believeth in him}only the ELECT should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Galatians 1:6
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

He died for the whole world that is everyone.

But not everyone will receive the gift of God.

It is the will of God that none should perish but ALL come to the knowledge of truth.

So the choice is in the hand of each man when he hears the Gospel, is whooed by the Holy Ghost through Conviction of sin, Righteousness of God and the Judgement to come, and offered salvation in Christs finished work of the cross.

If they turn it down they are condemened, if they accept it they are chosen in him to be Holy and without blame before God, predestined to be adopted of the Father, they are Justified from all things, given Christ righteousness, forgiven, and sealed with the Holy Ghost until the time of redemption.

Amen Luke Amen!
Thank the LORD for freewill.
I am stunned that so many can be blinded from the greatest verse in the Bible
John 3:16.
These Words that Jesus spoke comfort me in the fact that ANY MAN that wants Jesus to save him may be saved no matter how lost he may think he is if he.

Luke 15:4
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Luke 19:10
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

When Christ spoke this parable, do you think he meant that when he finds that sheep, he will keep it? ....I do. Christ is the Shepherd, we are the sheep he will not let us go!

In My Shepherds name, The LORD Jesus Christ.
