Default Quotes from the back of my Bible

Over the last few years, I have been compiling quotes in the back empty pages of my Bible. They have mostly come from preachers' sermons, and I find myself quickly writing them down before I forget them. Last year my mother gave me a booklet she had made comprised of all the quotes that she had jotted down over the years in her Bible. (I guess that is where I got the idea.)

I'm sure she and I are not the only ones fond of good "one-liners" about the Christian life, so I thought I'd post a few of my favorites, and hope y'all will return the favor with a few of your own.

P.S. I despise the "corny" ones that are so common on church signs nowadays so please spare me the agony. Make sure there is real substance - I'm sure you know what I mean.

1. If God loved you right now the way you love Him right now, where would you be?

2. Without me, God is still God. Without God, I am nothing.

3. God's will is a discipline before it's a direction.

4. God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

5. If you're looking for more than what the Book says, the devil will be sure to help you find it.

6. Character is forcing yourself to do what you don't want to do.

7. If the blood of Jesus Christ isn't enough, what good will ____________ (water, works, etc.) do?

8. That Book hasn't got any bottom!

10. God gave you the whole thing ahead of time, and it's on your lap, right in front of your face - READ IT!

11. The fruit of the Spirit grows in the garden of obedience.

12. God simply must be served. (AMEN)

13. It's in complete freedom that folks forget the Lord.

14. Every heresy in this age is the truth misplaced.

15. God won't put pressure on you, the devil will.

If you have a desire to hear God's still, small voice...you must be still, and small!

Quote:
PRIORITIES: (Our priorities are usually generated by self)
Almost all of today’s American Christians’ priorities are wrong!

MISDIRECTION: (Is usually generated by others or Satan)
Belief in anybody or anything, but God & God’s words
Quote:
Don’t Sweat the Big Things – It’s the Little Things that Count!

God’s people should “get used” to some disappointment – God has been “disappointed” with us for 6,000 years!

God only reveals to us what we are willing to believe – there’s the “heartagain!

AS BIBLE BELIEVING CHRISTIANS:

In Whom and What are we to Believe?

Psalms 106:12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.
John 8:30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.

2 Chronicles 20:20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

In Whom or What are we to Trust?

Psalms 119:42 So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.

Psalms 4:5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
Psalms 71:5 For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.

In Whom or What do we Hope?

Psalms 130:5 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Psalms 119:81 CAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.

Psalms 38:15 For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.
Psalms 39:7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
Romans 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
