Default Chavez welcomes Russian warships

Venezuela's Chavez welcomes Russian warships
Russian warships sailed into a Venezuelan port Tuesday, greeted by a 21-gun salute and an eager welcome from President Hugo Chavez as Moscow seeks to expand its influence in Latin America...
Russia's deployment of the naval squadron -- the behemoth flagship Peter the Great, the missile destroyer and two support vessels -- is widely seen as a demonstration of Kremlin anger over the U.S. decision to send warships to deliver aid to Georgia after its battles with Russia, and U.S. plans for a European missile-defense system. But Bush administration officials mocked the show of force.
"Are they accompanied by tugboats this time?" U.S. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack joked to reporters in Washington...

I heard about this. I sure wish I knew what to make of it. Then we have that russian political professor writting about America's future break up. So is this how it's going to go down? I've always wondered why America isn't mentioned in prophesy, and of course the only conclusion I can see being the logical one is because America will no longer remain as it is today. So what do you think? Are we seeing signs of the times?

Peace and Love,
Stephen

EDIT: oh and I noticed the comment about tugboats. I think that comment is rediculous to be honest. If these liberals get their way our military won't have the funds it needs to remain in tip top shape, and we'll be sending tug boats alongside our fleets.

Look at Ezekiel 38, and it says many people are with Russia, Persia, Ethopia and other former USSR area nations.

Agreed.

In the last few years Russia has been growing militarily and economically. They have plans to totally upgrade their military by about 2020.

The invasion of Georgia was obviously a planned training exercise. See Russia's traditional doctrine:

Also consider the future of the USA in regard to George Washington's vision:

I understand that the Russian ships carry oars as standard emergency equipment.

It should be noted that the Russians actually failed with their "military exercise" against Georgia. Those rednecks can fight!

Oops! Wait a minute... That was in beach volleyball. Sorry.

Meanwhile, Chavez has expelled our U.S. Ambassador and
is expressing his hope for Obama to convert our “infernal machine.”

The United States is “the empire that kills, bombs and assassinates. If Obama can convert that infernal machine into a machine that benefits the world, I think that would be a lot to hope for,” Chavez said. In his statement Chavez also said the issue of withdrawing US troops from Iraq would “be a test to see where Obama’s coming from,” he said, adding that to do so Obama would come up against the “imperialist machine.”

September:
President Hugo Chávez ordered the US ambassador to leave Venezuela within 72 hours and accused Washington of fomenting a coup attempt against his socialist revolution:

I wonder how many people see that Chavez and Putin are completely motivated by money? It's just so easy for them to make Bush look bad and to 'test' us to see if we'll withdraw from Iraq. These block heads just want the oil for themselves. Personally I say we should let them have it. We have more coal, natural gas and sun/wind/nuclear energy to remain stronger than ever.

Peace and Love,
Stephen

I hear you brother.
Unfortunately Obama has bought into the global warming hysteria, he has already stated his policy aims to bankrupt our domestic coal industry via his gigantic carbon credit taxation scheme:

"What I've said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will BANKRUPT THEM because they're going to be CHARGED A HUGE SUM for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted." more here:
