George, all Scripture can be used to support or define doctrines (teachings) for the Christian Church. You wrote: WHAT is he talking about – {“the mysteries of the Kingdom of God” – NOT necessarily church doctrine for Christians.} Perhaps I should have been more careful in what I wrote. I just felt that you insinuated something I cannot agree with. For me, I know what I believe, perhaps as your wife think, this makes me a babe. What I believe is that everything Jesus Christ said was for our use as those who follow in His footsteps (are not Christians supposed to be CHRIST LIKE?). The mysteries of the Kingdom are indeed for us. I don't know what you tell people, but I tell people that I am a citizen of the Kingdom of God in Christ Jesus. I sojourn here in this world to serve God's purposes unto His glory. Webster's 1828 Dictionary says this. DOCTRINE, n. L., to teach. 1. In a general sense, whatever is taught. Hence, a principle or position in any science; whatever is laid down as true by an instructor or master. The doctrines of the gospel are the principles or truths taught by Christ and his apostles. The doctrines of Plato are the principles which he taught. Hence a doctrine may be true or false; it may be a mere tenet or opinion. So, you tell me, are Christ's doctrines not for us, simply because we are not Jews according to the flesh? Anywho, that's all I've got on this for now. Your response to my response was very caustic I might add. Could you please tone it down a bit? I am not your enemy. I am simply here to share what I believe is truth. If you disagree with something I say, then respond in a loving manner. You have yet to show that you are capable of doing this whenever you respond to what I say. Stephen's Post
Stephen,
Your quote: Quote:
You do this quite often. It's DECEITFUL and DISHONEST to take someone's words and CHANGE them to prove a point. The fact that you can NOT see this; the fact that you don't understand this; demonstrates to me that you not only lack "discernment", but you also lack "integrity", and your "pious" platitudes" about "love" cannot cover up for your fundamental dishonesty! I am not going to go over the ground the I have covered in my previous Posts. If you cannot (or will not) understand them, fine. But when you change my words that is another matter altogether. Quote:

I really don't care that you "felt" that I "insinuated" something you disagreed with. You should have dealt with my WORDS - NOT with "something" you "felt" I said! I have reached the end of my patience with you. There is no "profit" in trying to reason with you, and since you refuse to receive instruction from not only me, but several of the brethren on this Forum, I will bid you "Aloha" and farewell! Whether you answer this Post, or not, I will no longer respond to anything you have to say. I don't answer dishonest people who twist people's words "in a loving manner" - NOT when they need a rebuke! We are not HUMANISTS - where nothing matters but "love" and "unity" (and being "NICE" - NOT "caustic" ). God's word (THE TRUTH) is far more important than your Humanistic concept of "love" and "unity". Proverbs 12:17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. Psalms 33:4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. Psalms 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Psalms 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. 1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. |
