Thank you for your kind words. I really enjoy your thoughts and your posts, and please keep them coming.
I had read a little bit in the joined/yoked marriage post yesterday. Not enough, to make any kind of comment, but I did get the idea that some tension came into play. I have see this on the board quite a bit. It is too bad. I find it interesting that within our Christian world that we have so much disagreement and contention sometimes. The secular world just thinks we are crazy and doesn't want to talk with us! (Chuckles) Please stick around and may God bless you and your husband in all that you do. |

Brother-Smith,
Thank you for your kind words. I'm afraid I'm kind of new to this "discussion" thing and hopefully I have learned a little about how I don't want to engage in it from that thread and others. I will be trying to add more grace and less condemnation. Thanks for your blessing for my husband and myself. I look forward to your posts. Jen |

One of the reasons I have been longing for a community like this is that I want somewhere where I can can feel at home. A place where forgiveness comes quickly and correction comes patiently. We need to take care of one another in our ups and downs. We won't always agree, not yet anyways.
Communication is not always easy, clear or well intended, but can be worth it. It's kind of like a good marriage. My wife gives me the chance to explain myself before she jumps to a conclusion about something I said. She knows that she and I are one flesh and that I would never do anything to harm her. We are not yoked together but are joined together as one. Not to be separated. Just like Jesus Christ and the church. (bear in mind I haven't read much of the yoked thread yet) Something funny happened last night though. I went to a guys hang out to help counsel my brother in law on some pressing issues dealing with his fiance and her family. The other brother in law had great points but kept describing marriage as needing to be equally yoked. I kept think in my mind that being joined together is much easier and less work. =) Last edited by Brother-Smith; 07-09-2009 at 11:59 PM. |

Welcome
Hi Brother Smith – I’d also like to welcome you to the forum and I look forward to reading your posts. Your statement of beliefs are almost identical to mine and your search for a true fellowship likewise!
God bless PaulB |
