Default Aram or Ram - Matthew 1:3-4

Which is the correct name based on my two KJV Bibles. My personal bible spelled Aram while my other bible spelled it Ram. Which is which?

If you looked around the internet, you would find that the KJB reads "Aram".

While that could be a typesetting error, it is more likely that the "Ram" edition is some sort of modernised KJ version with changes throughout.

Examples:

The word "Saviour" might be spelt "Savior".

Matthew 26:73 says, "thy speech bewrayeth thee". It might say, "betrayeth".

The New Scofield KJV (1967) version, contains "RAM". The Old Scofield, Scofield lll, Thompson Chain, Cambridge, A no name KJV I have, even the NASB, and the Amplified Bible, contain ARAM.

The NKJV, NIV, RSV, like the 1967 Scofield KJV contain RAM. So we must conclude it is not an Alexanderian Boo Boo, since the NASB, or Amplified do not contain RAM. But the work of some unknown corrupter of later vintage.

So by majority rule, Aram has to be correct.

Majority rule is never a good argument for authenticity. The unaltered KJBs are correct because they are ... unaltered. The New Schofield KJV is neither a true Schofield nor a true KJB.

This I know, I used majority rule as a figure of speech. The Majority of Modern Translations disagree with the KJV, and that does not make them right.

In my case the majority of all the Bibles I own, including the unaltered KJV versions contain ARAM. So where did Ram sneak in from, since it must not be an Alexanderian farce. Or maybe it is a correction, of a correction since its appearance in my Bible collection, does not come before the 1967 Scofield.

Well I take that back since my copy of the RSV, almost an original printing it is so old; has RAM. So it must be a seldom used Alexanderian floob.
