Default What say you of this verse?

Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

*For some man or for every man? As in: the righteous only?

*For the just and the unjust alike? As in: for the just only?

If God conclude all in unbelief, then in whom did Jesus suffer death for?

Think on this things and let God lead your search.

The scriptures that came immediately to mind are John 3:16-17. Since most can quote verse 16 from memory I'll just refer you to verse 17 which says: "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved."

Good response.

What part of "every" is not clear?

Apparently, the first three letters and the last two - if you're a Calvinist. If you are a Bible believer, the whole word is taken at face value.

Debau,

"every" is leaving out "none".

Only one is lost, that being...?

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is "none" other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Rom 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

Rom 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

If you look to Jesus, you will see that there is "none" whose name "under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved".

"Jesus understandeth, and sought after God, and He alone did the Good, for only God is good.

Just thought I'd give you a different perspective.

Face value is correct by the whole of the bible, in my opinion.

Looking at it from another angle, "Eve" represents the flesh, "r" tells who, and "Y" is you.

Every living soul born in the flesh is after Eve, the mother of all flesh.

So the word "every" means all flesh.

Simple enough?

With this method of "dividing the word" you could write dozens of books, give lectures, gain thousands of followers.... At least this time it was rightly divided, or maybe it would be more accurate to say it was divided with the right outcome .

Well, its in "theme" with or in concert with God wanting to save "every" soul.
