While I'm not saying that we shouldn't take action where we can, we should not get hung up on government, conspiracies, corruption and the like. There's no reason for a Christian who truly believes that God is in control to get bent out of shape over all this stuff. It's obvious that our country is under the influence of Fabian/Socialist/Communist forces, and has been since the 1800s. But that's for God to worry about, not us. We're called to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to save as many people from Hell as we can while we have time.
Aloha MC1171611,

I'm with you 100% brother. There was a time when we might have been able to "make a difference" - that's no longer true!

After we had raised most of our children, I became very active in our local community here in Hawaii in the late 1980's. (Chairman - Constitution & By-Laws committee of the Hanalei Community Association {HCA} and served as the Association's 1st. President, 3rd. President, Vice President {several times} and Board of Directors member for at least 15 years).

I also ran for our local Council in 1990; and in 1992 I ran for the State House in a newly created State House seat {out of at least 11 people running for the seat (Democrats & Republicans), I was the only one that stood firmly against abortion - and one of the people running for the same seat was a "church of Christ" - "Reverend"!)

I won the Republican nomination, but was defeated by a local Japanese woman (Democrat - The "Labor" candidate), who out-spent me ($$$) close to ten to one, and yet I managed to garner 46% of the vote - not bad in one of the most "Socialist" State's in the Union.

I believe that God is "done" with America - we are all "washed up" with Him. As a country, you cannot: kill 50 million unborn children; embrace the Sodomite agenda; take away parents rights over their children; suppress the truth (The Bible) in the "government schools"; refuse to execute killers, rapists, child molesters, and their ilk; refuse to punish evil doers; and wholeheartedly embrace the anti-God, anti Christian, anti-Bible religion of Atheistic Humanism, without God judging us.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

You don't see Paul trying to "change" the Pagan Roman system, or trying to "fight" Caesar. It's obvious that he knew Roman Law, and used it for his advantage, but to obsess over these things is a grave error. We are not called to be "Christian Patriots" - we are called to be "Ambassadors for Christ"!

I agree with you brother, but I have to say, if the "New South" secedes, I'll be hard-pressed NOT to go down to Dixie and give a helping hand. Only the fact that I've been expressly called to the mission field would stop me.

I don't think we should spend all of our time in politics, but I still don't think there is much of a higher earthly honor than dying for one's country. But like Gen. Patton said, "Your job is not to die for your country. Your job is to make the other b****** die for his country!"

Perhaps I shouldn't have come down so hard on Brother Simons. What I did not say, because I felt no need to justify myself to him, was that I was fanatically involved in right-wing politics, in my teens, right before my conversion: this was in the 60's, when being a conservative was anything but fashionable, and was physically dangerous. I ceased being involved in politics after I was saved, but I didn't quit studying the stuff. I do not enjoy being lectured on such matters by people who think they know it all.

But if my tone was too harsh, I apologize to the forum - - - although not to Brother Simons.

It will not happen. It did not work to well the last time we tried, I doubt it would work this time.

Also where did you get the idea that the states would do this? I know there is an online movement for this, but it's not going to happen.

I think the League of the South is part of this. It's an honorable, if futile, organization.

It's not only right, but dutiful (if you believe the Founding Fathers) for a people to throw off an unjust government and provide for a new one. This is what the Southern States did, and that is exactly what needs to happen now, though I'm afraid there's not enough testicular fortitude left in this nation for that.

Wow I love this.... Dixie Outfitters has a clock with the Confederate Battle Flag, and on the top and bottom of it says, "If this flag offends you...You need a history lesson." AMEN!!

George, I absolutely agree with you here! I often feel like Jeremiah, preaching the message of warning and the need for repentance, all the while knowing that the message is not being received by enough people to turn the wrath of God away. I am just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I thought it might have been the recent market crash, but those may be just the pre-quake tremors.

Yes I knew about them. I Think some folks are wasting a whole lot of time and money. They are probably good folks. Anyone who thinks any group could convince states to secede is living in a dream world. The Bible says the world is coming together under a one world government. The world is coming together now, just like the Bible says, nothing can stop this.

In the US at least, people no longer think locally. Most of the states with the worst economies are Democrat strongholds, and yet they blame the Federal government for their local economies, even though other states are doing just fine. California, Michigan, etc, are examples of left-wing governance and what happens, and yet the people there are still clamoring for more of the same, as if things will get better when their ideas are forced on the whole country.

So I agree with you -- the idea that any state is going to secede is just not realistic. Especially considering how much money the states get from the US Treasury for all sorts of programs and projects.

And I am being careful how I judge, thank you very much. I've followed Marrs' career for over twenty years, and when he was teaching the truth, he was a real blessing. But all flesh is grass.
You are right Brother! Marr's has a BAD reputation here in Texas, a lot of it is from an anti-semitic reputation he has made, another is some REAL strange "theories" he has cooked up. The Bible DOES call us to be wary of the schemes of the Devil, but that is done through prayer, regular Bible Reading,,and the Holy Spirit in us. Not by becoming so totally consumed with conspiracy that we do not focus on our daily life in Christ. Just my two-cents. Blessings.
