My family used to have a 'cottage' which was really a veery old farmhouse literally in the middle of the woods, no electricity, closest neighbor 2 miles, yada yada. Although I was just a youngster at the time, there was definately an evil spirit manifesting there too. I won't recount the details of it, because those of us who beleive in spirits always listen to these things with eager fascination. At the time my parents were Christians, but didn't know much about dealing with such things.
Later on, back in the city, there was something that would visit me in dreams, I'd wake up and it would be present in my room with me, distoring my eyesight, the room was so black, and it was like I was trying to grasp a spherical oobject too large to hold. It was terrifying, and by then my parents knew enough to pray about it, it eventually stopped happening. Then, one evening alone in my appartment as an adult, I woke up and felt the very same thing as when I was ten years old. By this time I knew much more about unclean spirits, and I bound, rebuked and told it to leave in the Name of Jesus Christ, and immediately it was gone. I went right back to sleep. This all opens a topic of discussion I've been interested in, not having cemented the Biblical truth about yet: I'm still unsure of the scriptural stand on such issues. I've read material on both sides of the fence, about binding and loosing, exorcism and deliverance. Strangely, amid the KJO sphere, one can USUALLY expect to find truth from KJ-based teachers, but on this particular topic, I find the camp devided. Suffice it to say, in tune with this thread, that dabbling with the occult, even things as silly as fortune cookies, is an open door for the enemy. Lord knows how much legal ground I once gave to the enemy through drugs, heavy music, lusts, etc. Anyways, I will now search the forums to see if there is another thread on this topic and post there, allowing others to get back to arguing the various flavours that those odd rice cookies are available in |

I want to thank all of you for listening to my story and not ridiculing me. I do not tell many people this story for fear they will think I am some sort of whacko or superstitious person, or that it will affect my credibility. Trust me, I am a very down to earth person, rather boring really.
You know, I've always believed in devils or unclean spirits because the Bible says they exist, but it is almost unbelieveable when you have an experience like this. I have had several other very honest and godly Christians tell me some very strange stories like this. And believe me, I tried to be as brave as I could during this experience, I constantly reminded myself that; 1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. |

the reason I have discovered we don't see them regularly is it is educated out of us. the story of your small child flaying at the spirit that was trying to trip your daughter. your daughter could not see it but the small child could. Lack of education.
here are some scriptures on the practice of dealing with evil spirits. it tells us those who go around constantly rebuking devil are in their flesh. we cannot attack Satan or his devils directly but as the angel fighting for Moses body 2Pe 2:10-12 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; And Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. the key is to let them now the Lord Has rebuked him or it. for truly he has and we are just the vehicles to remind him just as Michael was. we are not to fight these devils in our own strength you will end up receiving another spirit. |

A friend of mine (unsaved) also has had experiences similar to the ones that have been recounted in this thread. I'm not at liberty to share what I've heard, but I heard enough to know it's very real and not to be trifled with! |

Aside from all the other interesting things I noticed (Eye of Horus at the top of the dome, building built by the Knights of Columbus, revolting statues of Mary, etc), I witnessed a strange phenomenon that ties into what brother Chette was talking about. That sweet baby was quiet as a mouse the whole time leading up to the actual ritual. Then, strangely, when and only when, that 'priest' came close to the baby, it began to shreik and cry. Whenever the 'priest' moved away, out of the child's eyesight, he quieted right back down again. This repeated itself at least five times, especially during the actual 'baptism' and marking of the cross, etc. The entire rest of the day and the reception afterwards, the baby was cute as could be, giggling away. Its long been held. that animals can sense such spirits, and surely babies or young children can as well. Enough to make me want to carry a baby around like a coal-miner's canary! |

I'm familiar with the stuff that's being discussed here, as I've had a few experiences with things of similar nature.
I don't want to get into specifics, but I will mention the following:
The second and third items were after someone in our household had played with a 'white magic' kit, bought in the late 70s or early 80s. Don't mess with that stuff, ever. |

When living in VA. several years ago, one of my best friends told me this. She is a Sunday School teacher at the Methodist church, she teaches teenagers, and one of the girls is the daughter of the preacher. She had a Birthday sleep over one friday night, and one of the girls brought games, one game was teaching them 'how to levitate'...so they experimented with it and they claimed it actually worked! None of the girls had ever did this before.
They were scared and stopped..started another game..when inside the room,no window or door open, a 'wind' came through the room and knocked several things around...birthday cards off the mantle, and the one her dad gave her, went flying across the room. The girls started praying and soon tried to sleep..WITH THE LIGHTS ON! That sunday, they told my friend and she was able to lead them in prayer, renouncing what they did, asking forgivness, and they promised never to get involved with occult things again. I know several of the girls and believe them...trully there are things christians should NEVER mess with. |

Another thing to consider is that usually I notice their being around before they even get near my room. I can often times sense something outside the house. It's a sick feeling in my gut and I can't shake it. I feel like if I look out my window it will be staring in the face! I hate it. I don't know why they come around, but I know they always flee when rebuked. Also, I've awoken twice to being held down on the bed by something I couldn't see, and both times I tried to scream but was unable to (I may be a Christian who completely trusts in the Lord, but when you wake up in that situation it's terrifying). Also, both those times I could sense that whatever was holding me down was mocking me and was completely malevolent. And both times whatever it was left when I pleaded for the Lord to rebuke the devil. This has led me to believe that it is never our voice that the devils listen to. It is always our trusting in Christ to save us that saves us. Peace and Love, Stephen EDIT: I think I've mentioned this before, but one of those two times was when my father gave me a fertility idol he had brought back from South Africa. I knew the moment he gave it to me there would be problems. I took the thing and decided to be rid of it in the morning. This was a mistake which I believe John wanted to spare us from: Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. (1 John 5:21 KJV) Suffice it to say, I got out my 22oz framing hammer and smashed the thing to near powder and threw it across the street! LOL Last edited by stephanos; 02-18-2009 at 02:24 AM. |

In 2007 while in VA visiting our sending church. a friend gave us a newly purchased home to stay in for the few months while we were there. Sometime during the first week we were all asleep in the same room I awoke to the sound of what sounded to be a woman crying. I sat up believing Tata was crying in the other room. I cried out her name to see where she was so I could go to her. She answered from the bed behind me. she had been sound to sleep.
I immediately asked Jesus to bind it and remove whatever spirit there was in the house. We never heard it again and we had no other instances. I dare not try and do anything in my strength against devils. I just trust the Lord to fight these battles. Just a few months ago, three girls here were having a sleep over. a spirit woke them up in the place where they were. one of them was a baptist and she approached the spirit and began talking to it. the next thing they knew she was cursing and speaking in a mans voice and to this day she is not right. now it was beleived she was saved but Paul does indicate in 2Cor 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or [if] ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with [him]. This would indicate Christians can receive another spirit after receiving the Holy Ghost. so trying to talk to them or carry on in any way would allow you to receive it. so care needs to be taken when devils come a round. I know a pastor here in our affiliation that told me he doesn't need to study his Bible. (he laughed at me for studying so hard). Because a spirit comes every night at midnight and teaches him the scriptures. I assumed he may have meant the Holy Spirit and dismissed it. but then he taught numerous errors from the pulpit one which stands out to be a total heresy and that was, "It is ok for married couple to watch pornography in the privacy of their own home". Later while visiting one of his members they had an soft porn cartoon playing and the kids were watching it. they turned it off when they saw that I was troubled because they watched it. that was after his teaching. We no longer work with that Pastor and started our own church. I did bring it to the attention of a leader in our affiliation. the point is he had received another spirit and it was giving him his instructions to the Bible.
