Hi Folks,
Quote:
Harry Ironside was one of a number of evangelists of the day who simply trusted the new scholarship. Naive, duped. David Cloud writes a page where these weaknesses are discussed. http://www.wayoflife.org/database/ol...entalists.html OLD-TIME FUNDAMENTALISTS WHO DEFENDED THE KING JAMES BIBLE Harry Ironside's section on the Johannine Comma shows that he was not only on the wrong side of the issues, he did not even have the most basic facts. http://books.google.com/books?id=r2MXPHWQ9voC&pg=PA117 The Epistles of John and Jude: An Ironside Expository Commentary (p. 117) "thousands of manuscripts have come to light from as far back as the end of the second and the beginning of the third century, and in none of them are these words found" This shows how effective was the Revision snow job on some for a season, it also demonstrates how Christians need to be dedicated to knowing the truth of the word of God. Shalom, Steven |

My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: (Proverbs 24:21 KJV)

CKG,
The best thing to do with Ironside, Scofield and Spurgeon is to read them but when they correct the KJV spit out those bones. Ironside was right about 98% of the time so he is good to read after, just do not believe everything he says he like everyone else has issues. Atlas |
