Good verses, pbiwolski!
I've been thinking about these verses lately and realized they also contain information about different punishments and/or different levels of hell: 2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; Not only were they cast down to hell, they were also delivered into chains of darkness. Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. No one else I'm aware of who is in hell is described as being in everlasting chains. Also, "under darkness" seems to be a lower, darker place in hell. In any event, it seems to be differentiated from the general darkness of hell. Both verses emphasize a higher degree of darkness and bondage by chains. |
