Actually, this is exactly what I have done since I first posted. I believe that I got sucked into the controversy over manuscripts and biblical criticism, a leftover from my college days. The verse that snapped me out of it came from Ecclesiastes.
And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. - Eccl. 12:12. For the sake of sanity, I have removed from my shelf other translations, books about bibles, books about reading bibles and books about books on biblical manuscriptures and moved on with my walk, my KJV in hand. I am sticking with Charles Spurgeon's sermons and C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity. Thank you, brothers, for your encouragement. |
