Copyrights
After reading New Age Versions by Gail Riplinger and her mention of copyrighted material,i looked into what she said. In order to have a copyright, there has to be a significant enough change for a new copyright. So,that makes sense if you have an NIV from 73,78 etc and why none of those versions agree. Would you want another version? Not me. The KJ doesn't have a copyright, for good reason. Thank God for His Preservation of His Word. It is perfect and without error.
Also i was interested if the copyright in the book was the same as the publishing date. Here is the response i recieved from the State Law Library of Iowa-Law Library. 1.The Publishing date is the same as the copyright date. 2. A copyright application allows for an author to request an additional copyright for a derivative work if the U.S. Copyright Office deems material added to the pre-existing work to be significant enough for a new copyright. This backs up those statements made by GA Riplinger. It is elementary to most of you,but thought it was interesting nonetheless. |
