Well, I live about 20 miles below the mason dixon line and I also love history, I would have to say I would have been confederate!!

Well, my other post didn't show up earlier, but did you live around Forrest City? I used to work in Shelby NC. Also I used to follow 18 all the way up and catch the interstate that ran into 77 to go home. Anyway, nice meeting a fellow hillbilly!!

The state West Virginia split from Virginia just to join the union in 1863. I'm sure you know this. Therefore this is an invalid question. The name West Virginia says it all doesn't it?

No I was born and raised in Mount Airy, right off of I-77. The last exit in NC before you cross the NC/VA state line. I now live in Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas
