400th Anniversary Commemoration
The year 2011 will mark the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Version of the Bible. I believe this is an event worth commemorating with a United States Commemorative Dollar Coin. However, no Congressman has stepped forward to initiate legislation authorizing such a coin.
Last month the Georgia Baptist Convention, GBC, issued a resolution for the President of the GBC to contact the members of the Georgia congressional delegation and ask them to sponsor legislation authorizing a King James Version commemorative. If you agree the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Version of the Bible is worth commemorating, then please contact your congressman and ask him to initiate legislation authorizing a commemorative coin. Folks, if we do not ask for it, we are not going to get it! |

Hmm, interesting. I'm not sure if this is something that our current politicians (cowards with no virtue and no backbone) would be willing to support. Then again, I live in Washington, the most unchurched state in the union. Perhaps there are som God fearing politicians out there that I am unaware of.
