What do you mean? They are parallel until the time of King David - then one line goes through Solomon and the other through another son (Nathan).

Are you looking for more geneologies? Genesis has some, 1 Chronicles some more. Matthew 1 and Luke 3 are the only geneologies to Christ after those other ones though.

I am not sure what you are looking for? The only place you will find that answer is Luke 3, as that is the only chapter that lists her geneology (through Nathan) - the others list the line of Christ through Solomon.

I am going to study this topic more. I remember learning that it was through Mary and her lineage we should trace. Not only that but the lineage God used was through the females ( God promised Eve that through her seed the world would be saved) and not following the male lineage. For instance we would trace who Marys mother was then her mother then her mother all the way back to Abraham and Sarah. Gods promise of a child was not only to Abram but also Sarah. This is why his child with Hagar was not recognized by God because the promise was also for Sarah.

The promise to Eve was a reference to the virgin birth. As far as promises to those in the line of Christ go, it is clear in the Bible that God made promises to various men and women, and we can't just limit it to just one of the two.
In the Bible the inheritance was through the males. There was a curse on Joseph's line though (on Jeconiah). |

Some people suggest that both lines cross over with Salathiel and Zorobabel. If this is true, then Salathiel could trace himself two ways back to David. Mary and Joseph would both trace back to Zorobabel.
Others suggest that there were two different Salathiels and Zorobabels. |
