I see there are two "the deep"s separated by the firmament.

Job 41:31-34 alternate between leviathan and satan, his location the earth and the (first two) heavens.

Thanks :)

thanks for your answers

Thanks Guy & Girls for your answers - they are quite helpful.
However, concerning the "restoration theory" I can't accept that one - but what I would do is recommend anyone to watch Kent Hovid (that is, unless they already have done). He is on the site that I posted at the beginning of this thread ... www.christfirstministries.com/default.aspx
I have to say I go along with Kent on this one.

I don't subscribe to restoration theory, if you mean the gap.

But there will be a restoration - at the beginning of Eternity.

Luke 06-22-2009 03:08 PM

In the beginning, God created the Heaven and the Earth

This is the original state.

In the restoration at the beginning of Eternity, John sees a new Heaven (not heavens) and a new Earth.

Heaven is the entire universe. In the beginning, Earth was in Heaven, and there was only one heaven.

Then, during the creation, God divides the heavens.

Genesis 1:6-10 describe the first Heaven.
Genesis 1:14-18 describe the second heaven
2 Cor 12:2 describes the third heaven

This is why Genesis 1:1 is correct, regardless of whether you believe the "gap" or not.

I understand the gap, and see it's strengths as a theory.

But God doesn't divide the heaven into heavens until Genesis 1:6 -> and so whether you go with hovind or a gapper, the KJB is still right :)

Sorry Luke, I thought you were speaking about the reconstruction theory (i.e. the day age creation that followed the "pre-Adamic race"). It may not have been you that I was referring to though, my son had the TV on so it was difficult to concentrate.

God bless
